Project Description

I love using cast iron pans because I can toss in veggies and chop them up right in the pan with a metal spatula. I wanted to do the same thing with my other pans, but metal utensils aren't safe to use on them. So I started searching for a wooden utensil that could chop and scoop at the same time.

I found a few that could do part of the job, but none that could do it all. If they could chop, they couldn't scoop. If they could scoop, they didn't have a flat top for chopping.

Another issue I ran into is that most spatulas have straight edges. When I try to scoop food out of a curved pan, it falls through the gap between the pan and the spatula. Since I couldn't find the right tool anywhere, I decided to make my own.
